Scam Alert: County Sheriff Impostor Calls

Scams
If you have received an emailed jury summons that purports to be from the “Cuyahoga County Court,” do not reply. It is a scam.

Do NOT call the toll-free number included in the email. Phoning this number may subject you to illegal robocalls in the future.

Do NOT click on any links or attachments in the email.

The Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts does not summon jurors via email.

Neither the courts nor the Sheriff’s Department will ever phone you to demand you pay court fees or penalties or to threaten you with arrest unless you make immediate payment.

If you receive a suspicious email or phone call purporting to be from Cuyahoga County, file a scam report with the Cuyahoga County Department of Consumer Affairs.

The Department of Consumer Affairs’ mission is to make sure people who live or shop in Cuyahoga County get what they pay for.
