Use this form if you had an issue with a product, service or account with a business, or to report misleading advertising.

Online: Gas Pump/Weights and Measures Complaints
Use this form to report an issue with gas pump or to report mismatches between posted prices and the price scanned at the register. Or file a complaint by phone at 216-443-7035.

What Happens When We Receive Your Complaint?

Consumer Protection Complaints:
Complaints about companies are assigned to Division of Consumer Protection investigators, who review complaints for possible violations of the County’s Consumer Protection Code. Investigators typically contact the company to try to obtain a resolution. The investigator assigned to your case will need likely need to reach you for additional details before starting work on your case and will need to consult with you as the matter progresses. If you failed to provide a daytime phone contact when you filed a complaint, or if you want to check on the status of your case, contact us at 216-443-7035.

Weights and Measures Complaints:
Complaints about gas pumps, store scales and price scan errors are assigned to the Division of Weights and Measures’ state-certified inspectors. Our inspectors will test the device or scan the item in question to see if there is an error. If a device is found to be inaccurate, it will be taken out of service until it is corrected. If you requested a call back when you filed a complaint, you will be contacted by the inspector or supervisor with results of our tests. To reach Weights and Measures, call 216-443-7035.

Scam Reports
Consumer Affairs acts as a clearinghouse for Scam Squad. Scam reports filed with us are shared with the agency best suited to investigate that particular scam as well as in a nationwide database used by law enforcement. We also provide one-on-one scam recovery help to victims. Your scam reports assist in investigations of scams and help Scam Squad spot and alert the public to changes in scam techniques.
